A Special Case Study: A Rural Health Center's Ingenious Rejuvenation

Our transformation of a remote rural health center into one that is almost entirely self-managed is a unique example of our expertise. This facility was situated in an area with erratic internet connectivity and few visits from specialists.

Challenge

Patients frequently had to be referred to a hospital in a larger city 100 kilometers away due to a shortage of specialists and erratic connectivity.

Low-bandwidth Remote Diagnostics

We created Internet of Things (IoT) medical kits that could record vital signs and send the information, even over shoddy connectivity like 2G, to a city specialist physician in tiny, encrypted packets.

AI-Powered Prescription Support

We created an AI model that, using patient symptoms and Internet of Things data, recommended initial diagnoses and prescriptions to help the paramedic staff at the centre (and trained on local disease data). Previously, this recommendation needed a specialist doctor's final approval; however, this greatly shortened the waiting period.

Solar-based smart energy management

We installed an Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled solar energy system to handle power outages. This system allowed us to remotely optimise energy use and continuously power essential equipment.

Results

Critical health issues were resolved within the facility, and referrals decreased by 40-50%. This case study shows that, even in challenging situations, we are capable of creating a robust and sustainable health ecosystem rather than merely being "connected."

This project was an illustration of a human impact as well as a technological one.

Unique Case Study: IoT Health Monitoring at Asha Clinic

We collaborated with a chain of clinics in several Indian small towns. Though doctors aren't always available, they see more than 100 patients every day.

We used a remote monitoring system and Internet of Things wearables to gather real-time patient heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels.

Each patient's report was sent immediately to the doctor's cell phone. AI analytics and automated medicine dispensers were also included.

Doctors can now make instant video calls when necessary and keep an eye on patients from a distance.

The drawback was that reports were delayed due to slow internet, but we added the option of low-bandwidth transmission.

As a result, patients are highly satisfied, villagers promptly benefit from government programs, and treatment and follow-up services are more easily accessible at the clinic.
