Our SALTO Integration and Application Development Services

SALTO Platform Evaluation and Integration Strategy

We analyze your current implementation, type of software used, the nature of locks, topology of your network, and your business goals.

The evaluation identifies the proper integration method, authorizations needed, and licensing dependencies. It also differentiates established capabilities from features requiring proof of concept or further discussions with the vendor.

SALTO KS API Integration

We create integrations for the KS operations we support, which include users, access groups, schedules, credentials and activities.

The backend is responsible for authorization, making API calls, and syncing with your application. If the project requires Core API features, we separately evaluate that instead of assuming that it can be done through a Connect API.

SALTO Space and SHIP Integration

For Space installations, we assess the licensed interfaces available to connect access control with external software.

The work can include mapping people, access permissions and supported events between systems. Network security, server availability and ownership of the integration are agreed with the customer's IT team and SALTO installation partner.

JustIN Mobile SDK Integration

We integrate supported mobile-key functionality into iOS and Android applications using the appropriate SALTO SDK and approved setup.

The user experience can include receiving a credential, understanding its validity and opening a supported door. We also plan for lost phones, expired access, device changes and situations where a key has not yet been delivered.

Integrating Flutter, React Native, and Ionic apps

Our methodology consists of determining the ways the needed native functions can connect to the existing code for the cross-platform app.

If necessary, we generate and support native bridges and plugins. Physical devices are used for testing the permission of Bluetooth, application lifecycle behavior, and operating systems' variances.

SALTO Homelok and Nebula Integration

We assess residential workflows involving units, residents, property managers and supported credentials through the appropriate Nebula integration.

The application can coordinate move-in, move-out and access changes where the available API permits. Hardware commissioning and installer responsibilities remain distinct from day-to-day property administration.

Hotel PMS and Guest-Journey Integration

We connect supported property-management workflows with access provisioning.

The scope can cover confirmed reservations, room allocation, check-in, extended stays, room changes and checkout. Exceptions matter as much as the normal flow: staff need to know when a guest's credential was not issued or when an access change requires attention.

Integrating coworking, memberships, and room bookings

We develop processes for combining user access rights with memberships and booking systems.

A user may need access to the building's entrance for the whole day and only to a room during the time of booking. The integration process deals with booking cancellations, membership term changes, and written directives.

Employee, Contractor and Visitor Access

We connect approved workforce or visitor-management data with supported SALTO access workflows.

The design establishes which system is authoritative, how departments or roles map to access groups and who approves exceptions. Offboarding includes checking whether the requested access removal has actually taken effect.

Web Dashboards and Multi-Site Administration

We build administration interfaces for properties, doors, users and access policies.

Permissions are enforced by the backend so that a local manager cannot administer unrelated sites. Supported bulk operations include progress tracking and individual failure reporting, helping operators understand what completed and what still needs attention.

Integrating activity streams, notifications, and reporting

We integrate events triggering mechanisms available in the chosen SALTO platform and formulate useful reports based on the collected information.

The implementation deals with connection breaks, repeated events, and missing event notifications. There is a distinction in the time the event occurred and the time of receipt of the information by the application.

Apple Wallet Guest-Key Feasibility and Integration

For eligible projects, we assess the relevant SALTO wallet-key integration route, compatible readers, software versions and licensing requirements.

Wallet credentials are scoped separately from Bluetooth mobile keys. The availability of one does not establish that the other can be added to every installation.

Access Points Beyond Room Doors

Where the platform and installed hardware support them, we assess access workflows for lockers, shared facilities, gates, parking areas and elevators.

Each access point needs its own capability check. A credential that opens a room does not automatically grant or technically support access to every other facility.

Security Checkup, Testing and Continued Assistance

We ensure that we have application-level authorization controls in place, safe credential storage, auditing of the administration and relevant regulations on data retention.

Testing encompasses not only the normal operation but also failures like disconnection, expired sessions, invalid permissions and slow updates.

In terms of the continuing assistance, we may carry out the API compliance checking, mobile OS updates, training and regression checks.

Conditions for the source code as well as for the documentation and installation and maintenance will be set forth in the agreement. The SALTO technology, proprietary firmware and third-party licenses remain subject to their individual terms.

How Access Changes Behave When Connectivity Is Interrupted

It is not always the same thing to remove a user from a dashboard and prevent them from entering again.

How the two events turn out depends on the SALTO system, the type of credential in use, the connection status and the mechanism used for access updates delivery to a terminal. It is important for the product to differentiate between events that were requested and those that were carried out.

Before rollout, agree on the behavior for:

  • A phone that has not received its new credential.
  • A disconnected gateway or unavailable server.
  • A room change after the original key was issued.
  • A lost phone or access card.
  • An expired booking with a pending access update.
  • A delayed event appearing in the audit report.

These situations belong in the acceptance testing process and assist departments such as reception, facilities and support teams to decide when to attempt resolution on their own and when to get an installer or systems administrator involved.

Emergency egress and other life-safety considerations must be taken care of through the relevant building systems and proper installation design work, not through a custom application.

All Features of Salto Smart Lock

The Salto Smart Lock comes with many advanced features that improve security, convenience, and management.

Mobile Access

This is a key feature of Salto. Users can use their smartphone as a digital key. They can unlock the door through the Salto app or your custom app.

Virtual Keys

You can send virtual keys directly to guests, employees, or clients on their phones. These keys can be time-restricted—for example, valid only from check-in to check-out.

Remote Access Management

You can manage door access from anywhere in the world. You can send, block keys, or change time limits.

Audit Trail

The Salto Smart Lock logs every entry and exit, allowing you to see which door was accessed, when, and with which key. This ensures enhanced security and accountability.

Various Access Technologies

Salto is not limited to mobile access only. It also supports RFID cards, PIN codes, and traditional keys (in some models). This gives you flexibility for different needs.

High Security

Salto locks use advanced encryption and security protocols to prevent theft and hacking.

Battery Performance and Power Efficiency

Salto locks run on batteries and use very little power, resulting in longer battery life.

Use Case Examples of Integrations We've Implemented
for Our Clients' Apps

We have done Salto smart lock integrations for clients across various industries.

Automated guest access for Airbnb and short-term rentals

Key handovers and retrievals were inconvenient for property owners, making late-night check-ins especially difficult. We integrated the Salto smart lock into the client's existing Airbnb management app.

When a booking is confirmed, our integrated system instructs Salto to create a virtual key. This key is sent directly to the guest's phone. The key is active only for the booking period. After check-out, the key is automatically deactivated.

Simplified guest check-in/check-out saves time for property owners and streamlines property management.

Personalized Guest Experience for Hotels

Traditional plastic card keys can be lost, and guests often have to wait in long lines at the front desk.

To solve this issue we integrated Salto smart locks into a mobile app for a large hotel chain.

Guests now check-in online through the hotel app, and their smartphones instantly become their digital room keys. They can head straight to their rooms and also use the app to access elevators, fitness centers, and parking facilities.

Employee Access Control for Corporate Offices

Physical access cards for employees were lost, or it was time consuming to grant access to new employees.

We integrated Salto into a corporate client's employee portal and mobile app. With smart lock integration, employees receive their access credentials directly on their mobile phones. Access to different areas of the office is granted based on their roles. Management can instantly add or revoke access for any employee through the app.

Salto Smart Lock Integration on Various Platforms

Frequently Asked Questions

Which SALTO platform is suitable for our product's integration?

Begin from discovering the platform that is currently used in your installation. KS, Space and Homelok have separate interfaces and operating procedures for integration. The right choice will depend on your infrastructure, licenses and intended processes.

Is it possible to integrate SALTO mobile keys with the current application?

It is possible to analyse your project in terms of compatibility with mobile key-related SDK and supported devices. The analysis comprises the accessibility of SDK, the process of credential distribution, telephone compatibility and usage of Native development for your application.

Can a web dashboard replace a mobile digital key?

Not automatically. A dashboard can manage permissions and supported remote commands, while a mobile credential communicates with the door through its supported local technology. These are separate functions with different requirements.

Are we capable of integrating our hotel management system or our co-working software?

We are able to check both APIs and permissions for integration. It would include more than just creating access, as we assume other areas like modifying reservations, cancelling reservations, verifying identity information, or handling failed provisioning.

Will access stop immediately when we remove a user?

That must be established for the specific installation and credential type. The application should show whether revocation is requested, pending or confirmed, with an agreed response when a device cannot receive an update.

Is it possible to connect SALTO with other access control systems?

While a common common admin layer could be created, capabilities of each system should be recorded separately. The communication should allow to understand the differences among different systems.
