What's an IoT-Smart AC Controller?

An IoT-Smart Controller for HVAC systems is a small hardware device with Cloud-based control software that can intelligently control any type of Air Conditioning (AC) unit based on current conditions such as Room Occupancy, Temperature, Humidity, and Actual Usage Data.

Instead of running AC units continuously, the system:

  1. Automatically turns the AC OFF when a room is empty
  2. Monitors occupancy, temperature, and humidity

Project Overview

Smart Controls Buildings Energy Efficiency Services, a UAE-based company specializing in energy-saving solutions for commercial buildings, approached Adequate Infosoft to develop a custom mobile and web application for their newly designed IoT-based air conditioning controls.

Their latest product line consists of IoT-enabled air conditioning control solutions designed specifically for the hotel industry.

These solutions provide guests with maximum comfort while minimizing energy usage by reducing the amount of energy consumed by operations.

For this product launch, the customer collaborated with Adequate Infosoft on the design and development of the entire IoT ecosystem, including the smart AC controls and mobile /web applications necessary to efficiently operate and oversee the device.

Client Requirements

The client needed a method by which each room’s IoT control unit would transmit data related to energy use, room temperature/humidity/occupancy/other environ-factors, and allow Hotel Admin's to remotely make adjustments to the guest's room, to facilitate maximum guest comfort while reducing energy usage.

Every guest room controller continuously monitors guest rooms then sends the monitoring of data such as temperature, relative humidity, energy consumption, & occupancy of individual guests residing in each guestroom to the Cloud where it is stored at predetermined time intervals.

The application interface was designed for ease of use by hotel staff and administrators to view and manage all guestroom data, generate reports, modify settings or make modifications remotely.

Secure Data Transmission

All data transmitted from room controls to the application is encrypted to provide data transmission security and privacy.

The solution was designed for scalability to allow multiple hotels and thousands of room controls while enabling future expansion to other countries.

Energy Usage Analytics
