A Unique Case Study: "The Future of Desert Crops"

We carried out a project in a remote, barren area of Rajasthan where traditional farming was almost impossible due to the lack of weather data. Internet access in the region was also very limited.

The challenge

Local farmers planted crops based on guesswork, leading to frequent losses. The soil and wind patterns were highly unpredictable.

Our solution

We set up a self-powered IoT grid,used mini-solar panels to power these IoT devices, and instead of traditional internet, we employed LoRaWAN technology for data transmission, which can send data over long distances using less power.


We installed sensors to measure temperature and humidity up to 30 feet below the ground. The AI model was trained with local data, historical data from nearby government weather stations, and traditional knowledge from local farmers, such as wind direction and bird behavior.

The result

With this local and predictive data, farmers successfully planted water-efficient crops like millet and certain vegetables for the first time, resulting in high yields.

Case Study: Climate Monitoring Network for Himalayan Villages

Many villages in the high mountainous regions of Uttarakhand face disasters each year, including sudden heavy rain, cloudbursts, and landslides and it is difficult to predict these events in advance because there are few weather stations and limited network coverage. To address this issue, Adequate Infosoft established an IoT-based climate monitoring network.

We installed weather stations, water level sensors, rain gauges, and soil moisture sensors in the villages. These devices send data to the cloud using AWS and Azure every ten minutes. We employed MQTT and CoAP protocols for data transfer to ensure accuracy, even in areas with poor network coverage.


Our AI and machine learning models process this data in the cloud. They identify unusual weather patterns using time series analysis and anomaly detection, whenever a potential danger, like heavy rainfall or a rapid rise in water levels, is detected, an alert is sent immediately to local administration and villagers' mobile apps.

The results have been impressive—the administration now receives alerts an average of three hours in advance, allowing for timely evacuations. This system has repeatedly saved lives and property.

The most inspiring part is that local villagers now maintain the entire network. We trained them to replace sensors, monitor data, and handle minor repairs. This not only brought technology to the villages but also gave the local community a sense of ownership.
