Zafe Connect: Advancing IoT Security Across 25K+ Smart Locks
One of our most successful projects in Europe is Zafe Connect, the largest IoT smart security platform for residential and commercial properties.
Today Zafe Connect has more than 25,000 smart locks deployed in five countries throughout Europe, providing secure, real-time access to the homes and businesses of thousands of people, as well as remote management capabilities for those locks and their access points.
Zafe Connect also supports multiple languages, making it easy for users from many countries to use the Zafe Connect application to manage their Zafe locks.
Additionally, Zafe Connect's platform is designed on a scalable cloud-based architecture that enables high availability for its customers, uses encrypted data transfer to provide secure communication between Zafe Connect and its customer base, provides for centralized monitoring of all locking devices in the system, and is capable of performing over-the-air (OTA) software updates to the locking devices.

AWS IoT Core
AWS IoT Core is the backbone of AWS IoT, It connects devices to the cloud. We used it in smart homes and industrial projects.
For one of our clients who operates a restaurant and bar in Paris with a large number of lights, we built a smart lighting system where the lights were controlled remotely using the MQTT protocol. It was fast and secure.
For another India-based client, we used AWS IoT Core in a smart home project, It connected 1,000 smart lights to the cloud. Now with our Mobile app building maintenance team can control the lights from their phones.
AWS IoT Device Management
It makes device registration, monitoring, and OTA updates easy and we used this service to manage device fleets. We registered 5,000 smart meters in one real estate project and updated their firmware remotely. This saved the client time and cost.
AWS IoT Device Defender
We used Device Defender in a healthcare project that involved securing data from medical wearables. Device Defender blocked unauthorized connections prevented data leaks and sent alerts. It monitors device behavior and prevents security threats. It works with X.509 certificates.
AWS IoT Analytics
We used this service for data analysis. In one project, we analyzed sensor data from a smart factory. This helped improve machine performance and reduce downtime.

AWS IoT Greengrass

Smart Water Treatment
For our client “smart home builders”, We built a smart water treatment system.
It was difficult to continuously monitor water quality, and maintenance was also costly for the housing society. We installed 2,000 sensors that measured water quality parameters like pH level, chlorine content, and turbidity. The data from these sensors was sent to AWS IoT Core.
We used services like AWS IoT Core, Device Management, Analytics, and Events. AWS IoT Analytics analyzed the data, giving us a complete view of water quality. AWS IoT Events sent instant alerts when any abnormality was detected. For example, if there was a problem with the water, we received immediate notifications, and using AWS IoT Device Management, we managed all 2,000 sensors remotely.
Smart Logistics
A logistics company, MVIKAS, was facing issues tracking delivery times and truck locations—especially in areas with no network.
We built a smart logistics system for them using AWS IoT Greengrass and Device Management. We installed specialized sensors in their trucks. These sensors collected not just location data, but also engine performance and route details.
AWS IoT Greengrass processed the data directly on the trucks, even when offline. Once the network was available, only the essential data was sent to the cloud. This reduced bandwidth usage and ensured real-time insights whenever possible.
Smart Museum
A UK-based museum needed to maintain proper temperature and humidity to preserve priceless artifacts. Security of the environment was also a key concern.
We developed a smart museum solution by installing sensors across the museum. These sensors continuously monitor temperature, humidity, and light levels in each room.
Using AWS IoT TwinMaker, we built a digital twin of the entire museum. This allowed staff to view real-time conditions—like temperature and humidity—of every room directly on a screen.
To ensure system security, we used AWS IoT Device Defender, which monitored the network and devices. It detected and alerted us about any potential security threats, helping to protect both data and infrastructure.
